The longest unbeaten run in English top-flight history is held by Arsenal between May 2003 and October 2004, with Arsène Wenger’s Gunners side going a ridiculous 49 matches without a Premier League defeat.
38 of these 49 games came in a single season, as Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ went an entire campaign without defeat – the only Premier League team to ever do so – with a record of 24 wins and 12 draws.
The longest streaks in the top leagues are even more impressive. AC Milan’s 58-match unbeaten run between 1991 and 1993 is particularly memorable. During that time, the Milan team dominated Italy and Europe, featuring the iconic Dutch trio of Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Rijkaard, supported by a solid defense led by Franco Baresi.
Liverpool's 42-match unbeaten run in 2019-20 is also noteworthy, though it isn’t the Premier League record. That honor goes to Arsenal’s 2003-04 season, known as the “Invincibles,” when they went unbeaten throughout the 2003-04 season, falling just one game short of reaching 50 matches.
Another notable run was Bayern’s in 2012-2014, when they went 53 matches unbeaten, just five games short of Milan’s record. Many consider that Bayern team one of the most enjoyable teams to watch in football history.
