Mohamed Salah could be preparing to end his long and hugely successful spell at Liverpool. The Egyptian forward has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with a new club after deciding to consider a fresh challenge away from Anfield.

Mohamed Salah has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Beşiktaş on a free transfer, putting the Liverpool star closer to a remarkable move to the Turkish Süper Lig.
According to French journalist Santi Aouna, the Egyptian international has accepted the main conditions offered by the Istanbul club. The proposed contract would run until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend the agreement for a further season.
The two sides are understood to have made significant progress, although the transfer has not yet been officially completed. Further negotiations and formal documentation will still be required before Salah can be presented as a Beşiktaş player.
Besiktaş prepare enormous financial package
Beşiktaş have reportedly offered Salah an annual salary of approximately €10 million. The agreement could also include performance-related bonuses worth another €2 million per season.
Such a package would make Salah one of the highest-profile and best-paid players in Turkish football. It would also represent an enormous sporting and commercial investment from Beşiktaş, who are attempting to strengthen their position domestically and increase their profile across Europe.
Signing a player of Salah’s reputation would give the Istanbul club a major attacking upgrade. His arrival could also generate increased ticket sales, sponsorship interest and international attention for both Beşiktaş and the Süper Lig.
The Turkish side appear to have taken advantage of uncertainty surrounding the forward’s future. Saudi Arabian clubs had previously been considered the most likely destination for Salah, but no proposal developed into a completed agreement.
Beşiktaş subsequently emerged as the most concrete option, offering the player the opportunity to remain in European football while becoming the central figure in an ambitious project.
Salah ready for a new challenge
Salah is reportedly open to leaving Liverpool after spending almost a decade at Anfield. The winger is believed to feel that the time has come to begin a new chapter following years of competing at the highest level in England.
His possible departure would close one of the most successful individual stories in modern Premier League history.
Liverpool signed Salah from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. Although he had previously played in England for Chelsea, few could have predicted the scale of his impact on Merseyside.

Despite reports of a verbal agreement, the deal is not official. Beşiktaş and Salah must still finalise all contractual details before the transfer can be confirmed.
Verbal agreements can change before contracts are signed, meaning a late intervention from another club cannot be completely ruled out. Interest from the Saudi Pro League could also return if one of its leading teams decides to submit a more lucrative proposal.
