Mason Greenwood is on the brink of completing a high-profile summer move after two clubs reached a breakthrough in negotiations. The English forward could soon make his first appearance for his new team, with a potential visit to Poland already on the horizon.
Mason Greenwood set to new club

Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement with Marseille over the transfer of the English forward. The proposed package is understood to include a guaranteed fee of approximately €40 million, with a further €5 million available through performance-related bonuses.
Greenwood had already reached an agreement over the terms of his prospective contract, meaning negotiations between the two clubs represented the final major obstacle to the move.
Those discussions have now progressed to an advanced stage. Marseille and Fenerbahçe are expected to complete the remaining paperwork at the beginning of the week, after which Greenwood should receive permission to travel and undergo the standard medical examinations.
Barring an unexpected late development, the former Manchester United player will continue his career in Istanbul. The move would give Fenerbahçe another major attacking option as the club prepares to compete both domestically and in European competition.
Greenwood joined Marseille from Manchester United in the summer of 2024. During his spell in France, he established himself as one of the team's most productive attacking players, recording 48 goals and 17 assists across 81 appearances.

Manchester United to profit from the transfer
Manchester United will also benefit financially from Greenwood's departure from Marseille. The Premier League club retained a sell-on clause when the player moved to France. As a result, United are expected to receive more than £10 million from the latest transaction. The English side also had the option to activate a buy-back clause but informed Marseille that it would not attempt to bring Greenwood back to Old Trafford.
The transfer could also bring Greenwood to Poland shortly after its completion. Fenerbahçe are due to face Górnik Zabrze in the Champions League qualifiers, creating the possibility that the forward will be included in the squad travelling for the European tie.
His availability will depend on how quickly the formalities are completed and whether he is registered in time. Nevertheless, the potential appearance of a player with extensive Premier League and Ligue 1 experience would add further interest to the confrontation.
