Three teams from Group K will continue their World Cup journey after a dramatic final round.

Colombia held Portugal to a goalless draw to secure first place in the standings, while DR Congo produced a stunning comeback against Uzbekistan to reach the knockout stage for the first time in the nation's history.

DR Congo Complete Memorable Comeback

Everything was on the line for the African side, who knew only a victory would keep their World Cup dream alive.

Their task became even harder after just ten minutes when Eldor Shomurodov capitalized on a defensive mistake and delicately lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to put Uzbekistan ahead.

DR Congo thought they had responded almost immediately through Nathanael Mbuku, but VAR ruled the goal out after spotting a foul in the build-up.

Rather than losing confidence, Sebastien Desabre's team continued to attack.

Their persistence was rewarded midway through the second half when Yoane Wissa calmly converted a penalty to level the score.

Momentum shifted completely after the equalizer. Fiston Mayele finished from close range to put DR Congo ahead before Wissa sealed a famous 3-1 victory in stoppage time with an outstanding strike from distance.

The result sent the Congolese into the Round of 32 in only their second World Cup appearance. Their previous participation came in 1974 under the name Zaire.

Colombia Do Enough Against Portugal

The battle for first place unfolded very differently.

Neither Colombia nor Portugal managed to find a breakthrough, but both goalkeepers were repeatedly called into action during an evenly contested encounter.

Camilo Vargas frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes on several occasions, while Diogo Costa denied dangerous efforts from Jhon Cordoba and James Rodriguez at the opposite end.

Colombia believed they had found a late winner when Davinson Sanchez headed into the net, only for VAR to rule the goal out because of a marginal offside decision.

The scoreless draw proved enough for the South Americans to remain at the top of Group K.

Three Teams Progress

Colombia advance as group winners and will now face Ghana in the Round of 32.

Portugal also move on after finishing second and are set to meet Croatia in the knockout stage.

The biggest celebration, however, belongs to DR Congo. Thanks to their comeback victory over Uzbekistan, they continue their remarkable World Cup campaign as one of the tournament's best third-placed teams, while Uzbekistan exit the competition with just one point from three matches.
