Arsenal's search for attacking reinforcements could require a huge financial commitment. According to reports from England, Aston Villa are prepared to demand as much as £100 million for Morgan Rogers, one of the players high on Mikel Arteta's summer wishlist.
The England international is attracting growing interest after a breakthrough campaign and could become one of the most talked-about names of the transfer window.
Arsenal Preparing Their Move
Rogers enjoyed the best season of his career in 2025/26, establishing himself as one of Aston Villa's most important attacking players.
The 23-year-old registered 10 goals and seven assists in 37 Premier League appearances, while also contributing in European competition and domestic cup matches. His performances were strong enough to earn a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Arsenal believe the midfielder has the qualities needed to strengthen their attack, and reports suggest the club is preparing to open discussions with Villa in the coming weeks.
£100 Million Demand Could Complicate Deal
The biggest obstacle is the asking price.
Aston Villa reportedly value Rogers at around £100 million, a figure that would place him among the most expensive signings in Arsenal's history. The Birmingham club are under no pressure to sell and view the player as a key part of their long-term project.
Competition from Chelsea could further increase the price, with the Blues also said to be monitoring the situation closely.
A transfer may become more realistic if Arsenal decide to cash in on Gabriel Martinelli, creating both financial room and a vacancy in the attacking department.
One of Villa's Best Investments
Villa's position is strengthened by the fact that Rogers was signed from Middlesbrough in February 2024 for approximately £8 million.
Should the club eventually sell him for anything close to their current valuation, it would rank among the most profitable deals in recent Premier League history.
For now, however, Villa appear determined to negotiate from a position of strength.
Martinez Could Also Be Leaving
Rogers is not the only Aston Villa star attracting transfer interest this summer.
Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez continues to be linked with a move away from Villa Park, with Juventus emerging as the club most frequently mentioned in reports.
Villa are believed to be seeking around €10 million plus bonuses for the World Cup-winning goalkeeper, although the Italian giants are reportedly hoping to negotiate a lower fee.
