Oliver Glasner is set to make a swift return to Premier League management, with Nottingham Forest moving towards an agreement to appoint the former Crystal Palace boss. Multiple reports, including Fabrizio Romano and The Telegraph, claim the Austrian has emerged as the club's first choice after Forest decided to part ways with Vítor Pereira.

Forest Ready to Change Direction Again

Despite guiding Nottingham Forest to Premier League safety, Pereira is expected to leave the City Ground after only a few months in charge.

Avoiding relegation was not enough to secure his future. Club owner Evangelos Marinakis is believed to have been unconvinced by Forest's overall progress, particularly after the team's Europa League campaign ended with a heavy semi-final defeat to Aston Villa.

The club has therefore opted for another reset as it looks to build a side capable of challenging higher up the table rather than simply surviving.

Glasner's Reputation Made Him the Standout Candidate

Forest quickly identified Glasner as their preferred replacement.

The 50-year-old enhanced his reputation during an impressive spell at Crystal Palace, where he transformed the club into a genuine cup contender. Under his leadership, Palace celebrated major silverware and established themselves as one of the Premier League's most organised teams.

Those achievements have made him one of the most sought-after coaches available this summer.

Another Busy Summer at the City Ground

Managerial stability has been hard to find at Nottingham.

Glasner would become the club's fourth different head coach within the last year, highlighting Forest's willingness to make bold decisions whenever expectations are not met.

According to Romano, negotiations are now entering their final phase. Unless talks unexpectedly collapse, Glasner is expected to be unveiled as Nottingham Forest's new manager in the coming days.
